Benny Bunny's Bedtime Hop
In a snug little burrow beneath the roots of an old tree lived a bouncy bunny named Benny. And Benny had a bedtime problem: he was full of hop.
“It’s time for bed, little one,” said his mama.
“But I’m not sleepy!” said Benny, bouncing off the walls. Boing! Boing! Boing!
“Ah,” said Mama Bunny wisely. “You’ve still got wiggles. Let’s hop them away, one by one.”
“First,” she said, “a great big stretchy hop.” And Benny hopped as high as he could, reaching his paws way up to the ceiling. Boing!
“Now,” said Mama, “a slower hop.” And Benny hopped again, but softer this time. Boing.
“Now slower still.” And Benny gave a tiny, gentle hop. Boing…
“And now,” Mama whispered, “the very last, sleepiest hop of all.” And Benny gave the smallest, softest little hop — barely a hop at all — and landed right in his cozy bed of moss.
He blinked his big bunny eyes. All his wiggles were gone. His legs felt soft and tired and floppy.
Mama Bunny tucked him in and smoothed his long ears back. “All hopped out?” she asked softly.
“All hopped out,” yawned Benny.
And the bouncy little bunny, at last quite still, snuggled deep into his warm bed and drifted off to sleep.
The end. 🐰
