Oliver and the Secret Treehouse
At the edge of the woods, where the tall pines whispered, Oliver found something he had never seen before: a little wooden ladder, climbing up and up into the branches of the biggest oak tree.
Of course, he climbed it.
At the top was a secret treehouse, round and cozy, with a little window and a lantern glowing softly inside. And there, in a rocking chair, sat a wise old owl.
“I’ve been expecting you,” said the owl warmly. “Welcome to the Treehouse of Adventures.”
The owl showed Oliver its wonders. There was a spyglass that could see all the way to the sea. There was a map of every forest path. There was a shelf of jars, each one holding a different sound — the giggle of a stream, the hush of falling snow, the hoot of the wind.
Oliver explored for what felt like hours. He saw sailing ships and mountain peaks and shooting stars, all through the magic spyglass.
But after a while, he gave a great big yawn.
“Ah,” said the owl gently. “Do you know the secret every adventurer learns?”
“What?” asked Oliver sleepily.
“The very best part of any adventure,” said the owl, “is coming home to your own warm bed.”
And he was right. Oliver climbed down the ladder, walked home through the whispering pines, and slipped under his soft, familiar covers.
He closed his eyes, still smiling — dreaming of the treehouse, and knowing he could visit again any night he liked.
The end. 🌲
