The Sleepy Seahorse Parade
Down at the bottom of the warm blue sea, where the water is soft and slow, a little seahorse named Coral curled her tail around a swaying strand of grass and got ready for bed.
But before she slept, the whole ocean came by to say goodnight — a gentle, sleepy parade.
First came the jellyfish, glowing softly, drifting past like little floating lanterns. Goodnight, Coral, they shimmered.
Then came the sea turtle, old and slow, paddling by with a wise, kind smile. Goodnight, little one.
Then came the starfish, tucking themselves against the warm rocks, one point at a time. Sleep well.
Then came the whale, enormous and gentle, humming a deep and rumbly lullaby that rolled through the whole sea like a warm wave. Hmmmmmm.
Coral swayed back and forth in the current, slower and slower, her eyes growing heavy. The water rocked her like a cradle. Sway… sway… sway.
The jellyfish dimmed their lanterns. The whale’s song faded to a whisper. The sea grew dark and calm and quiet.
“Goodnight, ocean,” yawned Coral, her tail curled snug around the grass.
And the little seahorse rocked gently to sleep, deep in the warm and peaceful sea.
