The Teddy Bear Who Guarded Dreams
Every child has a special friend who watches over them at night. And this is the story of one very brave little teddy bear named Buttons.
When the lights went out and his child fell asleep, Buttons had a very important job. He sat up straight, puffed out his soft round chest, and became the Guardian of Dreams.
All through the night, Buttons kept watch. And at the door of dreams, he was very careful about who he let in.
When a silly worry came sniffing around — a little grey worry with a frown — Buttons stood tall and said, “Not tonight. Off you go.” And the worry shuffled away.
But when a lovely dream came floating by — a dream of flying, or of birthday cake, or of splashing in warm summer waves — Buttons opened the door wide and said, “Come in! You’re just the dream we wanted.”
And so, all night long, only the sweetest dreams were allowed inside, while Buttons the brave little bear sat watch, soft and warm and steady.
When morning came at last, and his child woke up smiling from the loveliest dreams, Buttons finally let himself rest — flopping over with a happy, sleepy sigh, his important night’s work done.
So if you have a teddy of your own, give them an extra squeeze tonight. They’re braver than you know — and they’ll keep your dreams sweet till morning.
The end. 🧸
